Violinist and violist Jay Koziorynsky maintains an active performing career throughout North East Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Jay serves as Assistant Principal Violist of The Cleveland Opera and The Warren Philharmonic, as well as the Assistant Concertmaster of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra from 2012-2016. Jay also performs regularly with several regional orchestras including the symphonies of Akron, Youngstown, Wheeling and Butler.
Recently, Jay spearheaded the debut of Pierce Theater Players Chamber Orchestra in Sharpsville, PA as co-founder together with Conductor and Composer, Stephen Barr. He serves as concertmaster and was feature as a soloist on the ensembles inaugural concert. His performance of Mozart Violin Concerto No. 5 in A Major, K.219 was welcomed with a full house and standing ovation. He is no stranger to the Sharpsville community, as he has also played many shows with Valley Lyric Opera and Area Community Theatre of Sharpsville.
An avid chamber musician, Jay is a member of the Stellare String Quartet alternating between violin and viola. Jay has appeared as a guest artist at Westminster College in collaboration with cellist and faculty member, Robin Hasenpflug. Aside from performing Jay also maintains a busy private studio in Boardman, Ohio. He is a graduate of Boardman High School, and was a student at Youngstown State University's Dana School of Music from 2010 – 2015. He plays on a violin from 1864 by an unknown maker and a bow made in Cleveland, Ohio by the acclaimed bow maker, Geza Balint.
